To ensure that you select the right tour for you, we’ve developed a very clear set of fitness recommendations for our tours. These physical ratings clearly explain how much physical exertion is required to participate on each tour. Most tours require a moderate level of fitness, however there are others that offer a few more challenges, they are faster paced, cover some uneven terrain and include extended walking and site visits, which require greater fitness level. We ask you to consider carefully your ability to meet the physical demands of the tour.
RATING 1 – EASY
Passengers must be able to:
- Undertake small walking tours of 1-2 hours duration
- Walk on mostly level ground
- Get on & off transportation unassisted
- Manage airports & railway stations without wheelchair assistance
- Handle your own luggage
RATING 2 – MODERATE
Passengers must be able to:
- Undertake walking tours of 2-3 hours duration
- Walk over uneven ground & cobblestone surfaces
- Stand for a reasonable length of time during site visits
- Get on & off transportation unassisted
- Manage airports & railway stations without wheelchair assistance
- Handle your own luggage
RATING 3 – ACTIVE
Passengers must be able to:
- Undertake walking tours of 3-4 hours duration
- Stand for long periods of time during site visits
- Walk over uneven ground, cobblestone surfaces, or through soft sand
- Walk up & down slopes
- Tolerate varying climatic conditions such as humidity, heat & high altitude
- A reasonable level of physical & respiratory fitness
- Get on & off transportation multiple times unassisted
- Handle your own luggage
