Our Tour commences in London where we have 3 days to explore all the attractions this wonderful City has to offer. A visit to Jessie Chorley’s private studio in Greenwich to view her exquisite embroidery work as well as the opportunity to buy her quirky kits is planned, as well as a visit to the famous Abby Road to the new home of the Antique Textile Company. Christopher Wilson Tate has over 1000 quilts in his collection so inspiration is guaranteed. A visit to Liberty of London is sure to also be on the agenda.
For those familiar with the Lucy Boston quilt, a treat will be a visit to Hemingford Grey, the Tudor manor and gardens she called home and which houses a collection of her quilts. We will spend time exploring the historic cities of Cambridge and York and visit the Quilters Guild of the United Kingdom.
A cruise on Lake Windermere and a visit to the home of Beatrix Potter is planned before we spend 2 days at the Festival of Quilts, Birmingham.
A day trip to The Cotswolds for chocolate box photo opportunities before heading to the historic town of Launceston in Cornwall to visit Cowslip Farm and perhaps take time for a walk on one of the many walking tracks in the area.
The Roman city of Bath houses the American Quilt Museum and many quaint shops and of course the Roman Baths and Royal Crescent. For the garden lovers amongst you visits to the famous Sissinghurst and Great Dixter for some garden inspiration and also Hever Castle & Gardens which combines, gorgeous gardens and amazing history, being the childhood home of Anne Boylen.
Then back to London for our final dinner together.
In order to get the most from your travels and keep up with the group, a reasonable level of fitness is required.
You will need to be able to walk for a few hours at a gentle pace
Use combined shower/bath facilities (it is impossible to guarantee walk-in shower facilities)
Undertake walking tours of 1-2 hours duration, including using stairs, walking over cobblestones and other uneven surfaces
Stand for long periods in museums and other sites
Embark / disembark coaches, trains and other methods of transportation without assistance
Handle your own luggage

This refund will be given irrespective of how close to the tour start date you become ineligible to travel, but you must inform us within 24 hours of becoming personally unable to travel in order to obtain a full refund.
