To make a booking

Please complete, sign and return the booking form, with your deposit and a copy of your passport. As all of our tours are very unique and bespoke, we aim to provide a seamless individual service to you. Please contact us directly if you have questions.


Arrive in Tokyo. Make your own way to hotel for early check in and breakfast. Ride on driverless Yurikamome train to Tokyo Bay and visit Ginza after dinner.

Take the JR Tohoku/Hokkaido Shinkansen from Tokyo to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and transfer to the relay train to Hakodate Station in central Hakodate. Visit Fort Goryokaku.

Take the Super Hokuto Limited Express to Sapporo. Take a ride on Sapporo Streetcar (Shiden). Then take limited express train Kamui to Asahikawa. Check in to hotel upon arrival.

Take LEX for an excursion to Wakkanai. Visit Wakkanai Port Northern Breakwater Dome, and Japan’s Northern Most Point Monument.

Take LEX Okhotsk from Asahikawa to Abashiri. Situated on the eastern coast of Hokkaido, Abashiri is acclaimed for its prison, brewery which offers a wide variety of beers and an extensive variety of blooms. From Abashiri, take Rail Motor to Kushiro.

Travel by LEX Suer Ozora to Minami Chitose, from where take the Super Hokuto to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto. Then catch Hokkaido Shinkansen to Shin Aomori, then on to Aomori. Aomori used to be the main departure point to Hokkaido via ferry. Today it is best known for its spectacular Nebuta Matsuri summer festival.

Leave Aomori this morning and enjoy a rail cruise in UNESCO World Heritage Shirakami mountains by Rapid train Resort Shirakami on Gono line.

Take inter-city train Inaho to Niigata, from where take Shinkansen Toki to Takasaki. Then take Shinkansen Hakutaka to Toyama.

The tracks of the Kurobe Gorge train weave their way up through Japan’s deepest gorge from Unazuki to Keyakidaira. In just over 22 kilometres, the track crosses 21 bridges and travels through 41 tunnels and offers visitors panoramic views of the gorge below.

Travel on Ainokaze Toyama Railway to Kurikara. Then connect with IR Ishikawa Railway Line onto Kanazawa. Kanazawa is sometimes called “little Kyoto” and for good reason: It’s packed with first-rate sights, including one of the country’s best gardens, some great museums and several beautifully preserved neighbourhoods.

Take LEX Thunderbird to Kyoto. Kyoto is one of Japan's largest cities and was once the ancient capital of Japan. It flourished as the centre for Japanese politics, economy and culture for some 1,100 years. Visit Kyoto Railway Museum, one of Japan's three great railway museums alongside JR East's Railway Museum in Saitama and JR Central's SCMAGLEV and Railway Park in Nagoya.

Travel by Hikari train to Nagoya. Continue onto Matsumoto. Enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside from Wide View Shinano’s large windows. From Matsumoto, take LEX Super Azusa 18 to Kofu. Then take Wide View Fujikawa to Shizuoka pass Mt. Fuji on the way.

Depart Shizuoka by Shinkansen Hikari for Shin Yokohama. Change to Yokohama Line for a visit to Sakuragicho, the birthplace of Japan’s railways. From Yokohama, take JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line to Tokyo. Check in to hotel upon arrival. Farewell dinner tonight.
